To develop and build an awe-inspiring space as part of Brisbane Lions 'The Verandah', activation at The Gabba during 2018's AFL season. The Verandah concept was a new and exclusive way for footy fans to experience Brisbane Lions home games, requiring state of the art infrastructure.
This project was brought forward as a partnership between Hyundai, Heineken and Brisbane Lions. With an aim to create a wholesome and captivating look and feel for fans, to be fully engaged into a high-end, up-close footy experience. It was not only crucial to create a space that would amaze fans in-venue, but also attract media coverage and entice fans online.
This was achieved by working alongside brand activation agency MAAKE, who developed the concept. Which we brought to life by transforming the empty area into to an immersive fan experience via the build of a fully functional Heineken bar with various serving areas, a gazebo, a multiple seat swing, stadium signage, turf installation, branded green wall and media wall.
The venue was activated over a 2,5-month period where all 12 events went above and beyond client and consumer expectations, and had fans leaving amazed by the 'look and feel' within venue. 'The Verandah' also successfully attracted media coverage across multiple platforms, including; social, TV and press, putting the two leading brands in the forefront of consumer minds via large- and small-scale infrastructure. The space itself had to endure all forms of weather, from hot days to hailing afternoons, but never failed to impress fans throughout the season.
